Today, I’m featured on Music Fan Adrea’s Blog. She asked me questions about my music life and connections.
Sergey Bogza and Mary Aalgaard
Also, I’d like to put in a plug for the Heartland Symphony Orchestra. It’s a community orchestra from the Brainerd lakes area and Little Falls. The director is Sergey V. Bogza, a Russian American. This concert has a few special features. First, they are inviting some of the students from the high school orchestra, under the direction of James Larson, to play with the Heartland Symphony for some of the songs. I heard the high school orchestra this past week at the showcase concert, and their strings and strains melted my heart. I think James is a wonderful addition to our fine music program here in Brainerd. Also, at the Heartland Symphony concert, they are doing an original piece from a contemporary composer who won their composing contest. Performances are tonight (April 12, 2014) 7:30 in Little Falls, Charles D. Martin Auditorium and Sunday, April 13, 2014, 2:30, at the Tornstrom Auditorium in Brainerd, MN. Read more about it at Heartland Symphony Orchestra website.
In other news, the A – Z Blogging Challenge is going well. We’re almost to the halfway mark, and I’ve been enjoying writing the posts with, and about, The Biker Chef. I especially like the posts that have family history, like Bread and Ice Cream Pie (I also like eating them), and Grilling, Rubs, and the Smokenator, and today’s post about the Kaiserhoff in New Ulm, MN because it is part of the Chef’s family history.
Millie and Willie are busy sampling the food on Dine off the Page and helping me and Joy teach the theatre classes for kids. We started today with 20 energetic and creative kids. I can’t wait to see what stories we come up with together!

No I am a music snob and only like rock and roll oldies. I suffered through a musical last summer…I had several friends and relatives in the production. It was about as much fun as watching paint dry…next time I will have a good excuse:)
