Quote of the Day: Philippians 4:8 (The Message)
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
The Rose Gardens in Portland, OR give pleasure to all the senses.
They inspire creativity and offer moments of rest and peace, a place to breathe in beauty.
In the Shakespeare Garden, the woman in the background has her easel set up and is capturing this sight.
Walk slowly, breathe deeply, inhale the beauty all around you. It is our glimpse of Heaven.
Journaling Prompt: Describe something (or someone) beautiful in your life.
*SIGH* oh, so beautiful, Mary! Have a wonderful 4th! 🙂
Gardens are so restful. We have them here in the desert, but often without lawn. Your beautiful photos are making me want to go visit gardens in a more temperate climate!
Looks like a wonderful day! 🙂 I’d feel right at home in the garden. Thanks for sharing.
Mary–such beautiful pics! My hubby and I enjoyed the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum gardens this afternoon–absolute heaven! Hope you had a great 4th!
Mary, you know how much I love posting flowers. It’s such a privilege to be able to share beautiful things with others. The fireworks last night were beautiful. Always a treat. 🙂 And I like your new, clean look — very nice! Good work!
About describing beauty: There’s much; I’m truly blessed. However, I look forward to the day when I can blog that you are a debut novelist, Mary. I know you’ve got that story in ya! Didn’t get a chance to tell you before leaving the States, but I created a folder for your fabulous comment, the one in response to my thanking you for being one of the first Followers and how you cheered me on. About the Russians, we’ve been in their arena before, when we were in Cairo, with the UN. My Southern personality fades into the Ice Maiden when necessary. They’re clueless that I understand much of what they’re saying, LOL.
Hope your summer’s going well. Love the photos above!!
what gorgeous summer pics!
LOVE flowers!
Someone beautiful? Each and every lady in my Bible study. I LOVE to pray for them!
Blessings,
Patti
