Quote of the Day: The only reason you are here now is because someone in the real world is writing your story.
Reality is nothing more than someone’s point of view.
from Siv Maria Ottem’s novel Secrets of the Ash Tree
The Biker Chef grabbed it first, one Sunday afternoon. He took it upstairs to read before taking a nap. He was so captivated by this story built on Norse Mythology that he skipped the nap and read the whole thing in one afternoon. When he was done, he asked, “So, when is she coming out with the next one?”
I discovered the book through a blog hop that Siv was hosting to promote her book. She asked that participants write something about Norse mythology. I took the dare and did a bit of flash fiction. You can read it on this post, Norse Gods Blogfest. I was really excited about her book, the Norse Gods Blogfest, and hopping around the blogosphere. All that visiting won me a copy of her book. Thanks, Siv!
Siv Maria Ottem was born and raised in Minnesota, and is now living in Norway. She weaves the old tales of the Norse gods and goddesses, Valhalla and Hel, Thor, Freya, Loki and more with her new story of Liv and her quest to find her true identity. She keeps a fast pace to her novel and gives just enough back story on the characters. I would recommend this book to any age, as young as upper elementary kids who like mythology to adults.
Well done, Siv!
