Quote of the Day: You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. Winnie the Pooh, via A.A. Milne
So, here I am, writing my first blog post on my shiny, new website. Thank you, Corey at MidState Design, for creating this snazzy website and helping me transition to a new system. I think it’s going to really get me “off the page!” Also, big thanks to Krista at Blue Cottage Agency for helping with the design and encouraging me to take this next big step in my writing/creative career. To go along with that, I met with a Business Consultant Mike Paulus and Krista at a place called The Burn for a power lunch. I’ll admit, I did feel more powerful after our discussion. Mike is also associate Head Coach for the men’s basketball team at Central Lakes College, and a writer. We sat next to each other in Sheila O’Connor’s Creative Writing class. He has many ideas brewing. One is combining his knowledge of basketball and coaching with building businesses in a book titled: The full Court Press, bringing business and basketball together. The most important take-away from that meeting was “Think Bigger.” Look at how far and wide your words go. They are already way off the page. Since I am fortunate enough to be invited to professional theatres to view and review plays, many of which are traveling shows, I have readers popping on from all over, as well as a great network of other writers & bloggers from around the world. The Biker Chef and I love to travel (and eat), so we have posts on Ride off the Page, and Dine off the Page from restaurants and travel stops near and far.
I officially signed up for the Blogging from A to Z Challenge, again this year, which takes place in April. I even figured out how to put the badge on my website (yay, me), and will participate in the Great Theme Reveal on March 21. Hint: I’ll be using my newest blog, Dine off the Page.
Whew. Ok. Time to send this first official post from Play off the Page out into the world of words and creative minds. May we all reach farther than we ever imagined!
Go. Create. Inspire!
Journaling Prompt: Think Big and tell me how far can you go with your creative life. Now, think bigger!
Play off the Page is getting bigger and bigger. Thanks for coming along for the ride!
You’ve come a long way! New site looks great. We can reach farther than we imagine.
Thanks, Alex!
Congratulations on the new site! It looks beautiful!
Thanks, Sista!
Congratulations, Mary! Your new site is gorgeous. You’ve really branched out, achieving success with each step. The future is definitely yours! And, I’d like to add, you’ve inspired so many, including me, with your accomplishments and positive attitude.
Thank you, Kittie. This has been so exciting. All of it, blogging, growing into a new website, and reaching for the stars. Thanks for your support!
Hi Mary, good luck with your site. Half the work is getting into the routine of writing posts, but it soon becomes second-nature 🙂
Thanks, Joe. It isn’t too different from blogger, and I can see ways to make it even better.
Cheers!
I love the look. The Winnie quote is one of my favorite. I used to use it in my signature block in my college email when I wrote my students with disabilities notes.
Thinking bigger really helps us crawl outside our self-imposed boxes, doesn’t it? Have fun with A-Z this year.
Thanks, Julie.
What a great phrase, “Think Big!” How energizing to connect with other writers and collaborate on ideas. You are branching out girl!
We can be more than we imagine.
