Quote of the Day: And this will be a sign for you. You will find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. Luke 2:12
The Manger Scene
The words for this weekend for the Advent Photo A Day Project are Prophet and Sign. For both these words, I have flashbacks to all the Christmas Pageants I’ve been in over the years. I’ve played many parts, innkeeper, Mary, an angel. I wrote a Christmas program for one of the churches I attended when my kids were small.
When I was little, my sisters, brother James, and I put on the Christmas pageant for our family before we opened gifts on Christmas Eve. It seems I was writing scripts even at a young age and enjoying presenting the story.
Sometimes we look for signs in our life, asking the Heavens for help in decision making. Whenever I see a bald eagle, I think it’s a sign of something good. Sometimes, in saying those prayers for a sign, for guidance, opens us up to what it is we need to hear or discover. Sometimes, we need to look at the evidence around us to know what is really right for us.
May you see signs of good fortune and dreams come true as you enter the holiday season and new year.
Go. Create. Inspire!
Journaling Prompt: What’s your sign? Do you take much stock in astrology? What signs have helped you make decisions?
Which ones have helped? Speed signs, although I think of them more as suggestions…
I needed this today. Praying for an open heart.
Isn’t the creche a beautiful symbol of this time of year? I loved imagining you writing those scripts of Christmas pageants past, Mary, and the though of you playing, well, Mary! 🙂 God bless you and Merry Christmas! Sending hugs from Fargo, with wishes for a warm, cozy holiday.
