Quote of the Day: from Isaiah 9:2
The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light.
For those who lived in a land of deep shadows –
light! Sunbursts of light!
You repopulated the nation,
you expanded its joy.
The light of one small candle can brighten a room and give hope.
This month I’ve been participating in Rethink Church’s Advent Photo A Day Project. I believe I have had a nice following for my (almost) daily posts, photos, and reflections on the words provided. Thank you! I enjoyed the challenge and the daily reflections myself. Just like the A to Z blogging challenge, it teaches me to write daily and gives me the discipline and courage to do more writing. Who knows what the new year will bring?
Today’s words for the project are Joy and Light. Great words to use together. Light is technically tomorrow’s word, but I won’t be posting tomorrow. After I publish this, I’ll be getting to the last minute details of readying my home for our Christmas Eve celebration. The Biker Chef will be over this afternoon cooking us something wonderful. All my boys are here, and that’s all the gifts I need. My sister, her boyfriend, and a friend from Portland will join us for dinner. I feel Joy when my table is surrounded by loved ones. Then, tomorrow, Christmas Day, my big family will gather together.
I’m also participating in Mark Koopman’s blogfest 50 State of Pray. Click to his site, or click the picture on the sidebar for more participants. I don’t know if he got a representative from all 50 of the United States. I think he has a few participating from other countries. He wants us to spread words of love, hope, and encouragement. That is the Light in today’s post. If you’re in a dark place right now, may you find a glimmer of light, hope, from others around you. If you’re experiencing Joy right now, be the light for someone else. You are a gift to the world. In the words of one of my favorite Sunday School Songs, This little light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine.
Joy, Peace, Love and Hope to you today, this season, and always.
Go. Create. Inspire!
