Quote of the Day: “Faërie contains many things besides elves and fays, and besides dwarfs, witches, trolls, giants, or dragons; it holds the seas, the sun, the moon, the sky; and the earth, and all things that are in it: tree and bird, water and stone, wine and bread, and ourselves, mortal men, when we are enchanted.” – J.R.R. Tolkien, On Fairy-Stories

“For it is a true fact that faeries, just like people, very often find that a full belly and a good friend are all that they need to be happy.” ― C.S. Einfeld, Neverdark
Swedish Fairy House by Joy Ciaffoni, at The Shante in Pillager
Joy is building up her inventory of Fairy Houses, literally. She hand builds the houses, fires them, then glazes them, and fires them again. Some houses have little flags to link you to another country, or your heritage. Some have place names, like The Shante or Stonehouse Coffee Shop. Some will have fairy dust and other embellishments that will be a draw at the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee, MN, Fairy weekend, August 31, September 1 & 2, Labor Day Weekend.

It was a big day when Joy brought her houses to The Shante, a coffee shop/restaurant in Pillager, MN. She had built up her inventory and taken the risk to put them out into the world. Anna was excited to welcome another artist to her shop. She sells a variety of items on consignment there, and gave Joy and her houses a prime spot.

Really loved this, after a busy day this was a pleasure to read and look at.

That’s cool Joy made a house for the owner.
Isn’t that cool. I love those fairy houses. The whole shop too.
Neat creations, and the quotes were awesome too, of course. You find such great ones, Mary! Hugs from here!
Joy’s Fairy Houses are so cute!
Many fairies, trolls, giants, and tomtar come out into the light summer nights in the great forests of Sweden. It was wonderful to read about them here, and to see the flag of my native country displayed. What a nice surprise.
What a cute collection of fairy houses…
