Quote of the day: I type in one place, but I write all over the house. – Toni Morrison
This is an inviting space that I created.
Well, the former owners of my home built the deck, but I added the ingredients that invite me in, help me relax to create and dream.
I’m out here often in the summer and early fall.
I have about a month left before it gets too cold in this northern state.
I’m like Toni Morrison in that I write all over the house. I have tiny scraps of paper lying around to prove it. Also, with the ease of laptops, I’m in several locations, including the kitchen table, my room, and coffee shops.
Go. Create. Inspire! and create an inviting space for your creative soul.
Journaling Prompt: What does an inviting space look like to you?
I often write in bed with a laptop on my knees and pillows behind me. I think I take primal comfort in that spot when I need reassurance! 🙂
Comfortable chair, familiar items, music playing, and Hot Tamales nearby.
I have a beautiful view of nature. Really, that’s all it takes for me.

Oh, that is a nice spot indeed! And I know what it’s like looking out at the trees, into the “forest.” You are blessed! I, too, am writing all over the place, if even in only my head. But I have my fair share of scraps of paper too — things written on the lid of shoe boxes, napkins, envelopes, etc. 🙂
I would *love* an inviting space! I write on the go in my car (waiting for high school to let out), different rooms of my house, the library, the coffeehouse, etc. It’s good to be flexible, but part of me craves a real space. 🙂 I’m so glad my book is part of yours! Thanks for reading the story.
In the bathtub with a glass of wine!
(Seriously, it helps me think through problems sometimes.)
But the easiest place to write in the kitchen table.
I am so jealous of that deck. I really wish I had talked my husband into one. Maybe next year. :O)
Love the pic! My inviting space is where ever my bible, journel, and coffee land in the morning. I couldn’t help but giggle when I read that you have scraps of paper laying around, I have so many scraps that I was beginning to wonder about myself.
That quote is awesome, and I think it’s cool you write all over the house. I tend to always land in one spot. My inviting space: beautiful colors, comfortable chair, nature (either through a window or out in it) and silence.
My Blog
Hi Mary,
We finally finished putting all of our things away in the rv and I’m so happy because I will be able to have a creative space for myself! I’m thrilled! When I saw all the things we had to put away, I didn’t think there was going to be any space left, but there is! I’ll take a photo and post it on my blog as soon as I set it up.
Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog!
Warmly,
Mariza
My most inviting writing space is anywhere the kids are not. 😉
Hey, look – I can rhyme. Aren’t I nifty.
