Quote of the Day: May the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows. 1 Thessalonians 3:12
We cannot begin to make sense of man’s inhumanity to man. What happened in the United States of America ten years ago shattered our sense of security. We were reminded just how vulnerable and fragile we are. I was home with three small children, watching and crying over the news. I turned on the tv in time to see the firefighters rush into the towers, and then get crushed in their collapse. My seven-year-old came home from school worrying about tall buildings. I assured him that the tallest “building” in our tiny town of Parkers Prairie was the water tower, but he was afraid.
The short play, THE MIRACULOUS DAY QUARTET (under 10 min.), written by a “sister” member of International Centre for Women Playwrights, shows us what a difference of a few minutes makes.
Thank you, Mary Steelsmith, for sharing this with me and my blog readers. Click over to the Youtube link. (I had problems embedding it. Maybe it was the length.)
Go. Create. Inspire! And, may your love conquer evil.
Journaling Prompt: What were you doing on Sept. 11, 2001? What details of that event left strong images in your heart and mind?
thanks for sharing! I was in another country…It was devastating and everyone was SO kind about it.
I was at work, watching it unfold on TV. Images I will never forget.
We were having homeschool and a friend called and told me to turn the T.V. on immediately. Needless to say, we never finished school that day. 🙁
Praying for the families and our country.
Love was the theme of the lesson in church yesterday, and we sang a prayer for peace. It made me feel a whole lot better.
Mary, I don’t know what it is but so far, I have not tired of hearing what my friends were doing that day. I think we have been waiting to share our stories…for a decade. Thanks for sharing a bit of yours. Too bad we weren’t connected yet. We could have called one another and cried together! 🙂
Hi Mary! I’ve missed you during my blog absence, so good to be back and visiting my online friends!
Love your bible verse at the top…speaks volumes.
I was out of town on business that day, in a classroom with two of my co-workers training, when the whispers started. It was confusing to say the least and none of us could wait to get home to our loved ones. It was a long and somber drive home with all of us glued to the news on the radio.
“May your love conquer evil” — that’s beautiful. I was home with little ones too and I was glued to the television holding my babies.
